If your dashlight display doesn't turn on, but the auto all the same drives, it's either a $150 fix or an $850 fix. The cheaper one is due to a dying 12v. battery, the outrageous one is a failed Combination Meter which Toyota was replacing for costless until Nov 2015. To bank check if it's the battery, insert your key, press power without your pes on the restriction. When the brandish comes on, concur down the display button and turn your lights on and off 3 times. A diagnostic screen pops upward. Printing Menu, so Display, then System Bespeak (or the one closest sounding). You will see your battery voltage. It should read 12.4 minimum. Based on my research, annihilation less means a dying battery. Then utilize a load to the bombardment past pressing the Power button without foot on restriction to become into aux mode and y'all will run into the voltage in action. Once more, if information technology starts falling below 12.4 volts, the battery needs to be replaced. There are videos on YouTube if you want to DIY. At present, pull out your key then re-insert it and start the motorcar. Your dash lights should come back on. If they don't, open the trunk, get to the bombardment, remove the red cap, and pull out the white cable connector for three seconds, and so reinsert it. Your nuance-lights should come up dorsum on. This may be a way to deal with a failing combination meter until y'all can come with the $850 to get information technology fixed. Once more, check out the videos on YouTube for this fix. Hope this helps.
  2. The "warranty enhancement" you refer to is actually still in consequence for some. It'south good for ix years from in-service engagement. Some '09 models are affected, and then they'll be covered until 2018 at least. I got my '07 replaced last January.

Look on eBay and y'all'll see CM repair options for around $100, but you'll have to supply the labor. Information technology's a several 60 minutes task the first time yous practise it, less than an hour the 2nd fourth dimension.

I've never heard of the CM trouble being linked to a depression 12V bombardment, but information technology could exist. It's usually affected past cold temps.

Mine is an '06. My lights exit now and so too, but the weather doesn't seem to matter. At those times, the car won't shut down normally; I have to depress the brake and hold the beginning button downwardly until I hear the fan stop. When it happens, it'south similar being in a time warp: no mph, no miles period. It didn't brainstorm until after the cut-off appointment for the warranty, then the dealer would accuse me about $chiliad to fix it. I'm debating it. Later on all, it still drives reliably well. (Except now the air-conditioning isn't working right. Sigh.)

PriusGuyfrom213: thanks for that. I just bought a new bombardment and after watching that video, I probably didn't need to. Oh well, I'm going to keep the battery anyhow.

  12. I don't know what a "hybrid mechanical pump" is.

    - There is a mechanical engine coolant pump which is turned by the serpentine bulldoze belt.
    - At that place is an electric inverter coolant pump located by the driver's headlight assembly.

What are you lot talking nigh?

Further, I don't empathize your comment about checking 80% of the fuses and "most wait skilful". If you are going to check the fuses, every one must be skilful, not but wait good. Use an ohmmeter to verify continuity of each fuse. In particular, check the 10A Judge, 7.5A IGN, 15A AM2, and 15A DOME fuses.

If yous really want to resolve this electrical problem, you lot demand to substantially "improve your game", then to speak. Good luck.

I bought my '07 Prius brand new and I'm having the aforementioned problem with the dash lights non coming on. I see past reading this comment, that there was a warranty enhancement. I don't exactly what that means? My automobile didn't start doing this until effectually 2018. If there was a recall of any sort, I certainly never received one only I don't believe that'south what the warranty affair is about. It sounds similar if this had happened while the motorcar was still nether some kind of warranty period, it would've been covered only obviously, the auto is going on 13 yrs onetime, manner by whatsoever warranty period. Judge I'm screwed, huh? Other than the dash problem, the car is chuggin right forth

I purchased my a 2007 Prius used. He's blue so I named him after a dog nosotros use to take growing upward, "Blueky". I've been having the same issue with the dashboard lights. I've replaced the 12v battery in the back and take reset the bombardment numerous times after watching YouTube "dashboard light resolution" videos. The trunk won't open up when the dashboard lights aren't on so I take to open the back seat and remove the lock cover and tire hatch cover to get to the battery. I remove the red cover to the battery then the white clip plug in for a minimum of 30 sec plug it back in. Dashboard lights come up on and if im lucky they'll stay on for a whopping 24hrs. My odometer hasn't moved from 245,999mi. Im thinking combination meter simply would have to get my dad to exercise it.... is information technology easy or labor intensive? Any tips or ideas of where to become next would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

I fixed mine the other 24-hour interval and was amazed how fast and easy information technology was. replace the 100 cap with a 220. use the search function to discover the how to. YouTube has a nifty video on removing it. Took about 30 minutes to remove the dash, 5 min to solder the cap in and 30 minutes to snap it dorsum together. YouTube search cluster removal, and cluster repair.
